Matthew J. Parry-Hill

Biography

Since joining Bit-Wizards in 2007, Matthew has enjoyed working on a variety of projects and technologies, including systems integration involving Microsoft Azure, Windows Forms applications, .NET based web applications, Xamarin mobile applications, and Microsoft SQL Server.
 
Matthew began his professional career working as a Java developer for Florida State University at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL), where he was immersed in scientific and educational programming in Java. He primarily developed graphical interactive Java tutorials for a number of academic and commercial science websites. He was also a contributing author for a series of web-based technical articles on digital image processing. On the more fun side of things, Matthew developed a Java applet and a Windows screen saver for the popular science demonstration known as the Powers of Ten.
 
Matthew's interest in computers began with programming the Commodore 64 and later continued in college programming with C and C++. Growing up in Baltimore, Maryland, he moved to Jacksonville, Florida shortly after graduating high school and attended the University of North Florida. He obtained a BA in Mathematics and Philosophy and won the prestigious Willard O. Ash award for academic excellence. He now lives in Mary Esther, Florida, where he enjoys serving as a Christian minister with his wife, Sylvia.
