Bit-Wizards Named to Inaugural Class of Companies to Watch

Bit-Wizards, a leading provider of software solutions and consulting in the United States announced today that they have been selected as one of fifty “Florida Companies to WatchSM”.

nullThe accolade, presented by GrowFL, the Florida Economic Gardening Institute at the University of Central Florida and ACG Florida, in association with the Edward Lowe Foundation and funding support from The Governor’s Office of Tourism, Trade and Economic Development, recognizes the state’s privately held businesses that employ up to 99 employees and have between $750,000 to $50 million in annual revenue or capital. Bit-Wizards, a leading provider of software solutions and consulting in the United States announced today that they have been selected as one of fifty “Florida Companies to WatchSM”.

The accolade, presented by GrowFL, the Florida Economic Gardening Institute at the University of Central Florida and ACG Florida, in association with the Edward Lowe Foundation and funding support from The Governor’s Office of Tourism, Trade and Economic Development, recognizes the state’s privately held businesses that employ up to 99 employees and have between $750,000 to $50 million in annual revenue or capital.

“Firms like these named “Florida Companies to WatchSM” continue to be the catalyst that is fueling Florida’s emergence from a turbulent national economy,” said Randy Berridge, President of the Florida High Tech Corridor Council.

The list highlights the success of business leaders who have taken their operations to the "second-stage" of growth and hold the potential to continue to create new jobs in their communities and industries, thereby making a difference in regional communities.

null“Our inclusion in the ‘Florida Companies to WatchSM’ list represents a significant milestone in our company’s history and helps to validate all that we have been working to achieve over the eleven years we have been in business,” said Louis Erickson, COO and Co-Founder of Bit-Wizards. “This kind of recognition would not be possible without the hard work and dedication to excellence of our entire team.”

"Florida Companies to WatchSM" is unique because of its focus on second-stage companies and the wide-ranging industries they represent. The impact of these companies on Florida’s economy is immense, and this year’s honorees are examples of such companies in the state.

Between 2006-2008, Florida’s resident companies averaged more than 111,000 second-stage establishments according to YourEconomy.org, an online resource of the Edward Lowe Foundation. Together, those second-stage companies employed more than two million workers

nullLooking at the contributions of these companies, only 6 percent of Florida’s resident establishments were in the second-stage category, however, they generated more than 31 percent of net new jobs in the state. The “Florida Companies to WatchSM,” which were named after evaluating more than 310 nominations for the awards, represent industries ranging from alternative energy development to food production and industrial gear makers to information technology firms.

The “Florida Companies to WatchSM” award is the third achievement recognition Bit-Wizards has received within the past 6 months. In July, 2010, Bit-Wizards was named to Inc. Magazine’s list of the 5000 fastest growing privately held companies in America. Shortly after that, Bit-Wizards was recognized by Florida Trend Magazine as one of the top companies to work for in Florida.
