Biography

Ben likes to think of himself as a handyman for the digital age. Not only can he build you a computer from scratch, but he can also fix your air conditioner.

Ben's interest in technology began when he was enrolled in the Lego TC Logo program while in the fifth grade. He showed a real interest in computers and started spending as much time as he could on the family's Windows PC. In middle school, his afternoons were spent drawing scenes from Star Trek in Microsoft Paint. After his father got online when he was in high school, Ben taught himself HTML while cutting his teeth on Paint Shop Pro so that he could build fan sites on Geocities.

Ben’s interest in computer hardware came after the family's computer spent some time in the shop. Under his father's guidance, Ben learned how to build computers and how to troubleshoot issues.

Sometime after graduating high school, Ben joined the United States Air Force as Meteorological and Navigational Systems technician. For over three years, He maintained the instrument landing systems, and weather detection systems at Scott AFB, IL. Ben separated from the Air Force after his first enlistment, and he moved back home to Niceville, Floria to pursue a degree in graphic design.

Before joining Bit-Wizards as an Infrastructure Engineer, Ben spent six years in the HVAC industry as an installer and service technician.
