Taylor Haugen Foundation Website Receives Upgrade to Cloud-Based CMS

Originally designed and developed by Bit-Wizards in 2009, the Taylor Haugen Foundation website has been the at core of the organization’s mission to provide support to community-oriented, academically-proficient athletes, and organizations that promote and nourish these types of individuals.

While the website content remains unchanged, the new Kentico content management system that now powers it provides a new level of security and abilities for the organization. Kentico CMS is an enterprise web content management system providing a highly-flexible platform with a uniquely easy-to-use user interface built on the Microsoft ASP.NET platform. Moreover, the website is now hosted in Microsoft’s Cloud, Windows Azure, which provides the scalability to handle future updates, additions, or just additional bandwidth when needed.

The Taylor Haugen Foundation website provides updates regarding the foundation’s primary objectives, the Taylor Haugen Trophy, an annual trophy awarded to an outstanding faith based student athlete who has persevered through challenges, and the Taylor Haugen Scholarship Program, which provides monetary aid to deserving graduating high school student athletes. The website also serves as a tribute to Taylor and includes photographs and biographic information along with a guest book where people can show their support and share their feelings with Taylor’s family.

Taylor Haugen Foundation WebsiteThe Taylor Haugen Foundation’s latest initiative is the Youth Equipment for Sports Safety (YESS) Program, which works to provide awareness and potentially provide youth safety equipment via grants, scholarship, or direct donations. In partnership with EvoShield, and their evolutionary protective sports equipment, the Taylor Haugen Foundation provides grants and assistance to youth athletic teams/schools/districts at the local and national level.

“We are so thankful for all the support provided by Bit-Wizards,” says Brian Haugen, Taylor’s father and co-founder of the Taylor Haugen Foundation. “They have been a great partner and supporter. We really appreciate everything they have done to help advance the mission of our foundation.”

“There are just so many injuries around the abdominal region that can happen in football. Spleen, liver, kidneys, you name it. With this equipment, they can be avoided. The pros wear this. Robert Griffin III wears it, Adrian Peterson as well. We want this technology to be brought to high school and middle school athletes,” Haugen said.
