Bit-Wizards created an online resource for companies and site selection consultants to investigate, analyze, and research Northwest Florida as a location for job creating investments.
Florida’s Great Northwest’s website was outdated, difficult to manage, and not being indexed fully by search engines. The organization needed it to become a resource for companies and site selection consultants to investigate, analyze, and research Northwest Florida as a location for job creating investments. To do this, they needed to make available online the substantially large amount of data and maps in a differentiating content format.
The new site would need to position Florida’s Great Northwest region as a whole — as well as the individual organizations comprising Northwest Florida — as subject matter experts and valued business partners. Content and graphic design should be oriented as to drive traffic to partner websites and recognize business investment in Florida’s Great Northwest. Investors and partners should be able to use the new website as a vehicle for communication and a resource to access a number of mapping programs and data sets, using it as a multi-functional business tool for their own respective programs of work.
An abundance of content required the designers at Bit-Wizards to carefully design the navigation as it is critical to allow visitors to quickly identify areas of the site most relevant to their inquiry. The website’s architecture was developed in a way that organized information into sections that would accomplish this while providing highlighted areas of content. One of the areas to receive special attention is the interactive map room. Economic developers and their partners can view a regional map of Northwest Florida that displays counties and MSAs with interactive overlays for infrastructure and key assets. Also part of the map room is an interactive map of the Southeastern United States with major cities and distance to the Northwest Florida region. Complementing the map room are individual county profile pages with maps, contact information, and extensive demographic data.
The existing Buildings & Sites database includes the latest data on available properties in Northwest Florida. Bit-Wizards has been involved with enhancements to the performance of this utility prior to the development of the new website. As part of the new website development, it was completely revamped to match the new design styling to seamlessly integrate into the new site.
The new website was developed using Kentico Content Management System
No longer does the addition of new content require a web developer or designer. The marketing team can easily create and manage content using Kentico’s onscreen WYSIWYG editor. Graphics, text, links, and more can be incorporated into the content without the need for a separate HTML design tool or technical skills. Integration with SalesForce CRM now puts all contacts from the website in a single line of business, making it easier for Florida’s Great Northwest’s team to manage current and potential investors.
The new report generator feature allows visitors to customize their data collection into a single PDF file. While perusing the site, a visitor can add selected pages to a report of just the information relevant to their specific inquiry. Then the report can be tailored further in the report builder section; changing the paper size, orientation, compression level, and order of content.
Social media features now integrate Florida’s Great Northwest’s Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn marketing efforts directly into the website’s home page. Users can also share website content along with their followers on many social media platforms.
