Project Summary and Client Background
IMG Models wanted to unify their offices by providing a centralized location to manage media across their brand. Bit-Wizards helped implement a cloud-based solution to bring IMG together.
The goal of this project was to create a new online experience for the IMG Models brand. Being a media-centric
industry, the new application needed to display models and their work for a world-wide audience. The application will also serve as online collaboration tool for IMG Models and their clients to select and book models for photo shoot engagements. Additionally, the application would unify the IMG Models offices by providing a centralized, cloud-based solution for uploading and maintaining model media.
This project required the collaboration of the several technical and business units spread across the globe. Additionally, the site would serve as a complete re-branding of the IMG Models image and the site needed to project their new focus and image.
The IMG Models application solution includes a completely redesigned public interface for viewing models, social feeds, and IMG Models contact information.
The solution also includes the development of a media management utility for the IMG internal users to utilize for managing model media from their offices around the world. The IMG Models site also contains functionality to allow casting agents to create and manage “projects” wherein they will manage selected models, comments, and additional project specific information.
This site hosted entirely within Microsoft Azure
and leverages the Azure CDN for fast content delivery and improved site performance.
The IMG Models project resulted in a truly global application serving the internal IMG Models users, as well as a global audience. Based on Windows Azure, the site now allows all of the IMG Models offices to upload model media to a centralized location. The Azure CDN allows this media to be delivered efficiently to all users and increase the site performance and effectiveness of the application.
The application now contains the following:
- 4600+ Models
- 62,000+ Model Media
- 100+ Users
- 5 International Offices
- 20+ Content Editors
Bit-Wizards chose Kentico
since this CMS was already the standard technology in place for IMG. Kentico’s native Azure support and the ability to leverage the Azure CDN was essential for the delivery of a media-heavy site. Kentico’s built-in security module allows for the creation and management of users and an intuitive, capable interface for the management of site content and security.
