Community involvement has been part of our business since the very beginning. We believe in giving back to the community where we work and live by donating our time, talent, and resources. We are dedicated to helping make our community a better place.
Over the years, Bit-Wizards has contributed time and money to support many worthwhile charities, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions in Northwest Florida and Southern Alabama. In keeping with our core value of being Lifelong Learners, we are also involved with many local scholarships and educational events. As of 2011, Bit-Wizards has contributed more than $135,000 to local charities and non-profit organizations.
Our Community Partners
Covenant Care offers comfort and care for patients at many key stages of their lives. A wide range of services, including hospice, palliative care, Alzheimer’s care and home care, with specialized programs for children and veterans, Covenant empowers patients and their loved ones with more care choices, allowing them to live each day to the fullest. Bit-Wizards is a long-time supporter of this worthy organization.
Founded in 1969, the Northwest Florida Ballet’s mission is to provide quality dance performances and instruction for Northwest Florida; identify and develop talented dancers; and increase appreciation of the arts through public education and outreach. Bit-Wizards sponsors various events each year.
The Gulf Coast .NET Users Group is a non-profit organization of .NET programmers, IT professionals, and managers in the Northwest Florida, Southern Alabama, and Southern Mississippi area. Since Microsoft released the .NET suite of development technologies in early 2001, there have been a growing number of developers and other IT workers who are interested in learning more about .NET and discovering opportunities for deploying it. In our area, there is a healthy community of programmers who are interested in .NET. The Gulf Coast Users Group is intended to meet the needs of that community. Supported through sponsorship of educational events and website.
The local chambers of commerce along the Gulf Coast provide products and services to its member businesses helping them grow and prosper. The Chamber acts as the voice of business in government affairs. Bit-Wizards is a member of the Pensacola, and Destin Chambers of Commerce. Additionally, Bit-Wizards is an annual sponsor of the Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce, and CEO, Vince Mayfield is a member of the Board of Directors.
The Taylor Haugen Foundation was created to honor the memory of the 15-year-old Niceville High School student who passed away after an injury sustained during a football game on August 30, 2008. In spirit of Taylor’s extraordinary character, the mission of the foundation is to provide scholarships to faith-based, outgoing, community-oriented, academically-proficient athletes in the local community. Bit-Wizards participates in many Taylor Haugen fund raising events each year.
