Biography

Michael was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. His interest in computers began with the Commodore PET (predecessor to the Commodore Vic 20 and C-64) and its notorious cassette deck for loading monochrome games. While in high school, his inquisitiveness grew to include building x86 systems and learning programming in BASIC and C+ before moving to the beautiful city of Detroit.

Fast forward a few years, and Michael moved to Kansas City, where he continued his IT career and raised his children. It was during this time that he pursued a graduate degree and discovered that his IT experience and passion were steering him to the data science realm. Michael has worked with multiple platforms, ETL tools, and database systems, and the volume and depth of consumer data and insights still pique his interest.

A couple of decades later, on the verge of becoming an empty-nester, Michael moved to the Destin area with his son in 2023.  Looking for an opportunity to plant his roots and become more involved in his new community, Michael and Bit-Wizards found each other in what’s sure to be the most fulfilling chapter yet in his journey to continue to design data-driven solutions.
