Biography

Josh graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2010. Immediately following that, he started at a few local companies in the Orlando area, getting some professional development experience under his belt. After a few years, Josh decided to move to South Carolina to take a job at BMW. It was his first job working at a large company, building scalable software, and it was a lot to learn. Josh spent a lot of time learning how to build apps that work when connected to the infotainment center in a car, and it was a sizable challenge.

Josh has always been an avid video gamer and decided to go for the dream… working at Blizzard. After the first interview failed, he interviewed again the next year and landed the job. Josh and his family moved to San Francisco, and he really enjoyed working in the games industry. Building well-known applications amongst Blizzard fans, Josh was able to really see his work shine and see the outsized impact it could make.
Josh eventually moved back to Florida and took a job at Electronic Arts, staying in the games industry. The NBA Live team did not have a ton of mobile experience, so he decided to build both the Android and iOS apps, along with being the designer, the PM, and the marketer.

After a few years, the burnout from the games industry was real, and he decided to take a different path. He decided to take a fully remote position before the pandemic and enjoyed it. Working for Wayfair and taking his years of Android knowledge really helped the team grow. He also took his first attempt at management and realized that while he could be a good manager, the individual contributor track was where his passion lied.

There was always one thing that eluded Josh—working at one of the largest companies in the world. He studied long and hard for the interviews at Google and landed the job. It was a huge personal success, learning how to work at things at such a large scale. Josh got the chance to work on some Android code and really make some positive changes.

After working at such a large scale, Josh realized that turning his sights back to leveling up smaller companies is something he had the skills for, so he looked at Bit-Wizards. The team was small, and they were eager to learn and grow. Josh realized that his skills would be perfect to make the current app infrastructure better and bring in his years of Android knowledge.
