Stan Jones, Infrastructure Engineer

Stan A. Jones

Infrastructure Engineer

At a young age, when most kids get their inspiration to be a fireman, doctor, policeman, etc., Stan was introduced to the Commodore Vic 20 personal computer in the 1980s. This introduction set him on a “I want to work on computers when I grow up” path—before IT was cool (because we all know it is now).

Biography

At a young age, when most kids get their inspiration to be a fireman, doctor, policeman, etc., Stan was introduced to the Commodore Vic 20 personal computer in the 1980s. This introduction set him on a “I want to work on computers when I grow up” path—before IT was cool (because we all know it is now).

After moving to the Florida panhandle in 1988, Stan went through elementary, middle, and high school in Niceville before joining the United States Air Force in 1995.

In the Air Force, he was trained as an Electronics Computer and Switching Systems Technician, and after serving three tours in Kuwait, Stan decided to give civilian life a shot again.

Since leaving Active Duty in 2003, Stan has worked in various capacities, inclusive of Network and System administration for government, private and residential entities. This broad exposure has given him the ability to improvise, adapt, and overcome.

Stan and his wife, Sheryl, have been married since 2007 and have a blended family with five children, five dogs, two cats, and a ferret. During his off-time, Stan enjoys the chaos of going to the movies (Sci-Fi / Post-Apocalyptic ones mainly), tinkering with improvements on his home network to please his “connected” family and exploring historical sites when the opportunity arises.
