Vincent L. Daniels

Infrastructure Engineer

Vince started his “initial” career at the age of 6, working with his Papa (navy vet) as a young farmer in south GA. At that age, he was able to see over the tractor steering wheel but not quite able to reach the pedals just yet. He grew up with his grandparents and spent every waking moment following the “ol man” around. They hunted, fished, went to the farmers market, etc. all the time. Vince feels that’s why he has an old soul.

Biography

Vince started his “initial” career at the age of 6, working with his Papa (navy vet) as a young farmer in south GA. At that age, he was able to see over the tractor steering wheel but not quite able to reach the pedals just yet. He grew up with his grandparents and spent every waking moment following the “ol man” around. They hunted, fished, went to the farmers market, etc. all the time. Vince feels that’s why he has an old soul.

After graduating high school, he joined the Air Force where he worked as a personal trainer at several base fitness centers. He wanted to move into something more challenging, so he switched careers and became a Cyber Systems Operator in 2005. His first computer position was at Hurlburt Field, where he did system administration for a tactical comm. Unit. The team was small, which allowed members to learn skills from other fields. Vince believed that it was important to see what everyone contributed to the overall mission, and it enabled others to help when needed. He spent several years with that unit and eventually became section lead. He managed an 11-person, 24/7 current ops center supporting network operations and defense.

After Florida, Vince spent 3 years at Ramstein AB as Section Chief over help desk and exchange. During that time, he was selected as a Lead Systems Administrator for the Air Force Network migration. He collapsed legacy services across 10 Major Commands network, e-mail, and directory services environments into a single, standardized, and centrally managed Active Directory within the Air Force.

Vince received a BS degree in computer networks and cyber security through University of Maryland Global Campus in 2019. A few of Vince’s most memorable bases were Charleston AFB, Hurlburt Field & Ramstein. However, he also values the lessons he learned in South America, East-Asia and Africa.

Vince spends a lot of his personal time doing things outdoors. He loves playing several sports, including softball, football, archery. Vince believes team sports build strong relationships, enhances self-images, and builds character.
