The 2014 South Alabama Day of .NET was a fantastic success with tons of great info for the attendees. I had the pleasure of speaking on 2 topics at this year’s event: Windows Azure Deployments and Kentico CMS v8. Here’s a quick recap of each session and my presentations for anyone that wanted to download them.
Microsoft Azure Deployments – What’s Right for Your Project?
In this session I covered the various deployments and what makes sense for businesses. I provided an overview of Azure and glimpse into the massive amount of functionality available for developers. After covering the basics, I provided scenarios for projects and recommended deployment options for each. The attendees had some great questions and I really enjoyed the conversation and feedback.
What’s New in Kentico CMS 8
In this session I demoed some of the great features coming in version 8 and walked developers through some of the new and exciting functionality. I showed the group the new Form Builder functionality, Copy/Paste functionality with web parts, 1-step checkout and customizations, and discussed new module creation all from the UI. Everyone asked some really good questions and were eager to get their hands on the new version.
