Mapex Drum App Developed by Bit-Wizards Wins Best In Show at NAMM Show

For Michael Whalen, Bit-Wizards’ Director of Web Development, the last few months of 2011 into January of 2012 were filled with long days working on Mapex MyDentity Custom Drum Kit Builder, a new app for drum-maker Mapex. The hard work paid off and the customer was very pleased with the web-based app that allows drummers to create a custom drum kit.

The last week of January, the customer unveiled the app at the National Association of Music Merchants Show in Anaheim, California. The fourth day of the 2012 NAMM Show featured the “Best In Show—This Year’s Hottest Products” at the morning’s Breakfast Session. Frank Alkyer, publisher of Music Inc. and a panel of experts announced that Mapex was one of the six to receive the award. Mapex’s booth with the MyDentity app on display was also recognized as one of six “Companies To Watch”.

Mike Robinson, Director of Marketing with KHS America, Mapex’s parent company, said that since the NAMM show, “We’re already getting orders from dealers who want to place kits on their floors.”

Since going live on March 1st, the site is generating an average of 2,100 unique visitors per day.
