CyberSecurity and Cloud Headline Topics for 2013 iTen Wired Summit

The iTEN Wired Summit is an action-packed day of learning, networking, and sharing information on critical Information Technology issues. And Bit-Wizards will be there as one of the sponsors, with two of our wizards sharing wisdom on Windows 8 application development and Cloud solutions for Office 365 and Windows Azure.

Co-hosted by the Greater Pensacola Chamber and ITGulfCoast, the iTEN Wired 2013 Summit will be held at the Hilton on Pensacola Beach, giving out-of-town visitors an opportunity to stay and enjoy the beach for the weekend.

Initiated by the Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce in concert with regional economic development partners in Mobile, Baldwin, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa counties, the primary goal of iTen Wired is to remain competitive in the global economy by embracing the innovation of entrepreneurs across the I-10 corridor of Southern Alabama and Northwest Florida.

The event starts on Thursday September 12th with an invitation only CIO forum, followed by the opening reception. Friday’s activities begin at 7:30am and end at 4:00pm and will include two keynote presentations, sixteen educational track sessions, up to ten “Birds of a Feather” sessions, networking with sponsors and exhibitors.

The 2013 Summit is a forum to share ideas, innovations, and solutions organized around four tracks on important issues to the IT community.

  • CyberSecurity for Government
  • CyberSecurity for Enterprise
  • Cloud Computing
  • Application Development

As part of the Application Development Track, Bryan Soltis, Director of Technology & Research for Bit-Wizards, will be discussing how he and his team leveraged Windows 8 and Windows Azure to deliver an interactive user experience for Studer Education’s iLessonReady app. In this session, Bryan will provide an overview of the application’s development and functionality, demonstrating how Windows Azure Mobile Services extends the capabilities to deliver a personalized, feature-rich experience for the user.

Over in the Cloud Track, Bit-Wizards’ Director of Information Technology, Jeff Mitchell, will be delivering a presentation on how cloud computing is transforming IT and offering an operational expenditure model that allows any size business to participate in the value of highly available systems. Jeff will discuss the integration that exists between Office 365 and Windows Azure and considerations for using these services with existing systems.

The iTen Wired Summit is open to small and large organizations, to professionals in government, commercial and academic organizations. Students are encouraged to participate and discounted rates are available.
