Biography

In a small town, long before there was a thing called the internet, a young boy played a small part in the school’s spring musical. That boy, with big Broadway dreams, got a little glimpse of his future and unfortunately for him—and the world—it was not in singing or acting. So, with crushed dreams, Mark set out into the world to find his place.

After a short stint working as a mouse’s furry best friend at Disney, Mark discovered the wonderful world of the internet and web design. While working full time as a server in the evenings, Mark talked his way into an internship at a design company in Orlando and quickly turned that into a full-time position. Web design soon became web development with the introduction of classic Active Server Pages (ASP), and that is where Mark’s current journey truly began.

Mark spent about 20+ years pursuing happiness in the web development world, and for a majority of that time, he had found it. Partnering with one of his best friends, they created their own design/web development company, and enjoyed working together for many years.

When it was time to move on, Mark spent the next 11 years mostly as a software engineer designing applications of all shapes and sizes. When the opportunity to become a wizard presented itself, Mark was quick to act!

When not working or trying to keep up with the latest JavaScript framework, Mark enjoys anything outdoors, especially if it involves traveling. He also keeps his sanity in check by creating things from wood and working on various projects around the house.

Mark is still that same, small-town boy with big dreams. However, now he lives in the Orlando area with his two kids and one crazy puppy. And if you’re lucky, on the right day, at the right time, you may catch Mark singing way off-key to the latest Broadway song stuck in his head. But let’s hope not!
