For the third year in a row, Bit-Wizards, through its charitable extension, the Be the Magic Foundation, partnered with the HSU Educational Foundation to host a week-long programming and robotics camp. Principal Senior Software Engineer, Dave Perkins, walks us through the building blocks of preparing for the class.
Middle and high school students assemble, prep, and program Arduino boards and other hardware to create remote controlled rovers, which they put to the test by racing them through an end-of-camp obstacle course. Numerous other employees and even family members came together to lend a hand, making this a truly company-wide effort. In the end, every kid walked away with a working rover, and an experience they’ll never forget.
